Furniture Powered by Indoor Solar Energy

London designer Marjan Van Aubel has created the world’s first piece of furniture to harvest energy indoors ! The  Current Table 2.0 has an an orange-tinted glass surface encased in a sleek aluminum frame.

The orange color of the glass surface helps nanoparticles of titanium oxide embedded within the glass to absorb ambient light; which in turn release electrons. Rather like photosynthesis in plants. The electricity can be stored in a batter or even used directly via a USB port.

The designer has also developed a stained glass 

Now, sit back and relish sunlight, like never before!
