Challenge Description:

Challenge Photo

It’s been proven that drones can be much more efficient in logistics and delivery, in comparison to other methods. Be it beating traffic or reaching remote locations. However, the last mile hasn’t been solved successfully yet.

What’s the last mile?

Drones can either air drop (into a field) or even land (roof top, door steps) at defined spots. However, how can it be ensured that the target recipient receives the consignment? Imagine the following scenarios where drones could be used.

a.      An aid agency needs medicines to be delivered to doctors working in a remote hilly location

b.     A food delivery company needs meals to be delivered to residents on the 2nd floor of a ten story high building in a gated community

We are inviting ideas and solutions by which the drone can ensure that the desired person receives the parcel securely, ensuring there is no theft, damage or loss.

Think wild, be creative and let your imagination sore!
